Founded November 2011 by Elizabeth Beck and Jay McCoy, The Teen Howl Poetry Series met the first Thursday of every month at the Morris book shop located on 822 E. High Street in Lexington, Kentucky at six p.m. For five years, a Teen Howl Poet was featured after a lively open mic performed by the wonderfully wild and talented teens of Kentucky. To launch some evenings’ nights of poetry, a celebrity adult guest reader was invited to share his/her words.
Established in 2011, Teen Howl Poetry Series is an open mic opportunity for poets ages 14-21.Taking place the first Thursday of the month, the series is designed as a safe space for young poets to share and perform their written word among their peers.
